Encaustic Techniques
During this 6 hour workshop you will learn important techniques for encaustic painting. Encaustic means "to burn or heat." At every step of the process, heat is used‹ hot wax, hot pigment and heat gun. Encaustic is a wonderful medium, with the finished art looking transparent and luminous. Six hour class, $180 includes instruction, use of equipment and all supplies.
Mixed Media Collage I
In this 3 hour introductory class you will be encouraged and nurtured as you learn to place interesting papers, photographs, fabric, textures, words, and images on a sturdy support as you learn about different adhesives. This is a good class to take if you need to jump start your creative juices. You will leave energized with new ideas and your 11x14 collage, ready to mat and frame. $55 includes all materials.
Mixed Media Collage II
In this 3 hour class you will learn fun texture techniques with the addition of acrylic paints and collage. Bring several 140# cold press water color papers cut in half. $65 includes materials.
Encaustic Practice Sessions $35/hour
Poetry Writing
Poetry writing is well-known for its ability to heal. In this 3 hour class you will have the opportunity to write poems in a nurturing and beautiful environment using different poetic forms. You can write at the big table in my studio, outdoors by the flower garden or swinging in the hammock. $55 includes your very own handmade pamphlet stitch booklet.
